Soffits and Bargeboards

Policy EM1 - Extensions and Alterations Policy

The replacement of soffit and bargeboards may be required for many of the Garden City homes.

In order to retain the character and appearance of a property it is recommended that all replacement soffit and bargeboard works are specified to replicate the existing. Like for like replacements of size, scale, colour, appearance and material is endorsed to uphold the individual character and street scene.

Should existing materials not be matched, the use of uPVC replicas would be considered as part of an Estate Management application. Colour, design and width will need to match the property and wider street character to uphold the core principles and appearance.
