Electric Charging Points
Policy EM1 - Extensions and Alterations Policy
Electric charging points can be integrated within a home easily while being inconspicuous. The following guidance provides room for new developments in the technology to be integrated into this guidance:
- Parking allocation to driveways should account for a 2.8m wide bay. This requirement will relate back to the hardstanding guidance set out within the design guide.
- Charging points should not be fastened or secured to external building elevations which are in sight of the street or other public vantage points.
- The use of screening (including both soft landscaping and boundaries) is encouraged.
